Individual Budgets - overview
Personal Budgets have recently been introduced by the government, to
allow you to have more choice in how you spend the money due to you,
on the support and services that best suit your individual needs.
They will replace the traditional adult social care package.
What does it mean to me?
You will have more freedom and more choice about the care you
receive.
Who can get a Personal Budget?
Anyone over the age of 18 with support needs may be eligible.
What can I spend my Personal Budget on?
Anything that helps you to achieve your agreed goals and plans.
How much will I get?
The amount of the Personal Budget depends on your needs.
How do I apply for my Personal Budget?
If you are open to the Community Mental Team then they will assess
your eligibility; if you are not then you will need to see your GP
or talk to a Mind worker.
