Side by Side
About Side by Side
In September 2014, the Big Lottery Fund awarded Mind £3.2 million to improve access to peer support across England. With this grant, we’re running a two-year programme called Side by Side. Mind In Northamptonshire alongside Local Mind’s across the country are part of the Side by Side programme all working together with the aim to improve the lives of people with mental health problems by increasing access to peer support.
Mind, Bipolar UK, Depression Alliance and grant-funded projects are also working together, with support from the Big Lottery Fund, to increase access to peer support and research its benefits. In particular, we’re working to ensure that people from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds and people living in rural areas have access to peer support.
